CRISIS INTERVENTION AND PREVENTION SERVICES
Crisis Intervention and Prevention services are designed for individuals with developmental disabilities experiencing behavioral crisis that threatens their ability to live the fullest life possible. Due to their hospitalizations, police involvement, or placements in more restrictive settings, their engagement in the community is limited.
When the individual starts services, they will be supported by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Person-Centered Strategies Consultant (PCSC). The BCBA will utilize the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to conduct an assessment, develop an individually-tailored Behavior Support Plan, and conduct an intensive intervention with a focus on coaching the individuals ‘family-unit’. The PCSC will focus on training the ‘family-unit’ to implement skill acquisition programs that lead to increased independence for the individual. Together, the BCBA and PCSC will continue to support the individual through ongoing monitoring, trainings, and adjustments to the plan and goals
Pre-enrolled individuals have access to the B-Fit Center 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. The B-Fit Center focuses on stabilization and de-escalation, practicing coping skills, and a supported reintegration back into the home environment within 23 hours.
The goal of Crisis Intervention and Prevention Services is to reduce crisis behaviors experienced by the individual. Through this reduction, the individual has a greater opportunity for a high quality of life and engagement in their community.
