BERGEN strohl

Bergen graduated from the University of Kansas in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and minor in Business. Bergen began her career as a Special Education Teacher in Dallas, TX serving children with Autism in a self-contained classroom. As the Department Chair of the Special Education Department within her elementary school, Bergen gained extensive knowledge and experience in the field of education and applied behavior analysis.  While teaching, Bergen recognized a lack of summer services for children with special needs. Consequently, she founded a summer camp specifically designed for children with Autism. The camp served multiple children with a range of abilities. After a leadership opportunity was presented to Bergen, she left the field of teaching and started working as the Administrator of a large Child Development Center and Private School located within a shelter for victims of domestic violence. At the shelter, Bergen grew her passion for helping children with diverse backgrounds and needs. Missing home, Bergen decided to move back to the Kansas City area to be closer to family. She now serves as our Vice President of Operations and brings a unique skill set to Behavioral Health Kansas City.
